With only two weeks of school remaining, many parents are beginning to wonder how summer arrived so quickly. Between work schedules, family vacations, sports commitments, and end-of-year school activities, summer camp registration can easily slip down the priority list.
The good news? It’s not too late.
While some of the most popular camps may already have waitlists, many excellent summer camps still have openings and can provide children with memorable experiences, new friendships, and opportunities to learn and grow throughout the summer months.
Why Summer Camps Matter
Summer camps offer much more than childcare. They provide children with opportunities to:
Build confidence and independence
Develop new skills and interests
Make friends outside of their regular school circle
Stay physically active
Reduce screen time
Explore hobbies they may not encounter during the school year
Whether a child loves sports, science, art, animals, technology, music, or the outdoors, there is likely a camp that matches their interests.
Late Registration Doesn’t Mean Limited Options
Many parents assume that if they haven’t registered by spring, they’ve missed their chance. In reality, camp availability changes frequently throughout June.
Families adjust vacation plans, children switch activities, and camps often add extra spaces based on demand. Some programs also reserve spots for late registrations or offer single-day and week-by-week enrollment options.
If your first-choice camp is full, ask about waitlists. Openings can appear right up until the camp begins.
