We are in full Holiday mode and everyone is working hard to put the finishing touches together to open the Winter Fair at the PNE presented by BCAA tomorrow – Friday December 6th!
A winter edition of the PNE we love in the summer, the site will undergo a full-transformation full of fun, magic, and festivity, this year’s PNE Winter Fair (2024) has more to offer than ever before. Here’s everything you won’t want to miss out on:
NEW This Season
Ferris Wheel
It’s time to see it all from above. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the sparkling winter wonderland below. Hold the hand of your loved one and breath in the fresh cool air.
Berry-Go-Round
Who doesn’t love a strawberry? Hop on this whimsical berry ride. It’s a family favourite that can accommodate ages 2+, and the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit. $7 per person to ride.
Classic Magical Fun coming back this season
The PNE Holiday Express
All aboard! The PNE Holiday Express is pulling into the station and everyone is invited. This train will be carrying you on a festive journey past the glowing lights, fantastical displays, and endless fun, as you pass through the magical light tunnels that mimic the Northern Lights. Whether you’re 2 or 92, this will fill your heart with the holiday spirit you’ve been waiting for. $2 per person per ride.
Nutcracker on Ice
This magical, dazzling show is just 30 minutes so you can get your Nutcracker fix and then get back to the fun! Watch in awe as world-class figure skaters gracefully glide across the frozen stage. Showtimes are at 6:30 and 8:45 nightly. Included in the price of admission.
The Magic of Santa: Holiday Musical Stage Show
Back by popular demand, this adorable, heartwarming kid’s show is also included in the price of admission. Running twice nightly, you can watch Skitter the mouse and his friends including Rudy the Polar Bear, do everything they can to make Skitter’s Christmas wish come true. Show times are 5 and 7:30 nightly. Included in the price of admission.
Ice Bumper Cars
You heard it right! Glide seamlessly across the slippery surface, spin and laugh your way around the ice in the lower level of the Agrodome. Minimum heigh to ride is 48″. This event costs $8 per person to ride.
Ice Skating
Bring your skates and skate for free or rent a pair for $8! Located in the Agrodome, the Tim Hortons Ice Rink has everything you need for a magical journey on skates.
Discover Santa
Perfect for your little ones who want to meet Santa and love solving puzzles, this interactive journey takes children through a few different stations before you get to meet Santa himself. With the help of Santa’s elves, your kids will write a letter to Santa at the Post Office, make a holiday ornament, and leave a delicious reindeer treat in the Reindeer Barn for the reindeer to discover once they’re back from helping Santa deliver gifts, and even take do some quality checks at Toy Testing to make sure all the toys getting sent out work perfectly. This magical journey is one your children won’t soon forget.
The PNE has partnered with BC Dairy and Tim Hortons make sure there is everyone gets their milk and cookies after they milk Maggie the cow.
Professional photos with Santa will be available for $15.
WinterLights presented by BC Hydro
See the wonders of the Northern Lights and Candy Cane Lane. Grab a hot chocolate (or some cider or mulled wine) and wander through to snap a photo of the lavish displays including foxes, seals, giant moose, arches, and a new illuminated train.
These light displays are the perfect place to make holiday memories and are included with admission. Since this event is outside, bring an umbrella if it’s raining.
Enjoy some tunes in the Winter Chalet
Once you’re finished all the amazing activities, you can hang out in the Winter Chalet listening to holiday favourites and modern hits, grab something to eat at one of the amazing onsite vendors, or do a little holiday shopping in the market.
