Mental Health Awareness Month: The Silent Load Carried by Mothers,
Mental Health Awareness Month, conversations around emotional well-being become louder, more intentional, and more visible.

Over the past few months, managing digital devices has become a large part of most parent’s lives. How do we know how much time on the devices is acceptable? How do we know what websites or games are appropriate? Ultimately, how do we know what they’re looking at or doing on those screens?
If you are looking for answers to these questions there is a Digital Parenting webinar that is happening this Thursday, June 25, at 1:30pm ET! This is a free, introductory webinar being held across Canada online and will focus on parents of children between 5 and 11 years old and will discuss questions such as how closely should we watch our kids when they are online, how can we help them stay safe when using the internet, and what is too much screen time.
This initiative is part of the DigitalSmarts workshop series, a partnership between YWCA Canada and MediaSmarts funded by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED).
The webinar will be hosted via Zoom and space is limited. Participants will be asked to complete an anonymous pre- and post-workshop survey for evaluation purposes required by ISED.
