Day 2 will be packed full of fun for families, topped off with a free afternoon screening of Jim Henson’s The Muppet Movie (1979). There’ll be food stalls – but luckily for Kermit, Doc Hopper’s Frog Legs won’t be on the menu…
The Muppets’ delightful first feature film (released in 1979) is appropriately enough an origin story. Kermit the Frog embarks on a cross-country road trip from the Florida swamps to Hollywood, California, meeting Fozzie, Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang along the way. With cameos from Mel Brooks, Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, and Orson Welles, among many others, and songs by Paul Williams (Rainbow Connection).
