Carlie began publishing BC Parent magazine in 2015, after taking the reigns from Founder – Forrest Phillips. With experience in print and marketing, and a mother of two young children – 12 and 8, Carlie has produced content that she can relate to. “Whenever I find out something new that relates to parenting, I try to share it in the magazine because I’m sure other parents would appreciate the information.”
Lorrie brings with her a very unique background in lifestyle publishing, children’s media and early childhood education. When not leading music classes at CEFA South Delta you can find her mentoring children, parents and teachers to create creative content in the forms of the written word, art, music and film in her popular blog at www.kidsnewsandreviews.com Within the lifestyle genre Lorrie offers a broad range of experience spanning over ten years, from editor and sales & marketing director for Greater Vancouver Visitors Guide to Arts & Entertainment Editor of Vancouver Lifestyles Magazine, Food & Wine Columnist for North Shore Outlook and Editor of Suburban Living Magazine. Lorrie has also written as a guest blogger for both Vancouver Mom and Kidzworld. Her training includes graduating with honours in her Early Childhood Education Program from Sprott Shaw College, Certificate in Peer Counselling from UBC, Communications & Film undergraduate studies at Capilano University, Script Writing at Vancouver Film School and additional enrichment studies including Recreation Gymnastics Coaching Certificate from Gymnastics BC, Kindermusic License, along with private training in voice and piano. Lorrie is excited to be offering her voice and vision to our magazine, in both print and digital reporting and editorial.
