We know we all need to stay at home, but with kids hanging around asking for things to do, how do you fill the day? Who would have thought that the idea of activities “At Home” would become such a valuable resource?
There are a few organizations that have developed some “At Home” resources. Check them out!
AU at Home – Arts Umbrella is committed to fostering creativity and providing youth arts education during these times of social distancing, AU is launching the #AUatHome Instagram art initiative, and developing online programs for their Theatre and Dance students.
Build a Biz Kids at Home – If you have a young entrepreneur in your house, Build a Biz Kids has a wide assortment of webinars and live Zoom presentations. They cover a wide range of activities from Financial Literacy, to Sales to Prototyping there is something for any entrepreneur. The Live sessions are very interactive and engaging to help the kids stay interested and involved.
Royal BC Museum at Home – Enjoy an online museum playdate every Wednesday with the RBCM@Home (Kids) webinar. You can also find historical videos and other resources on the Learning Portal.
Science at Home with Thames & Kosmos – This is a great collection of free resources to share with the little ones in your life. From sample experiments that you can do in your home, to fun videos showcasing fantastic scientific effects, to word finds and coloring pages to keep minds sharp and fuel creativity, they’ve got a little something for everyone.
Yoga at Home with Uphoria Yoga – Keep your kids active, develop their flexibility, and engage them in mindful activities through yoga! Each class is designed for a targeted age group and all you need is a safe space for you and/or your child to sit. *All classes are by donation
With the forecasted rainy days fast approaching, activities to keep the kids entertained and learning inside are definitely of value. We’re thankful to these great organizations for helping us stay connected and informed!
