Fun. Uplifting. Magical. Transformative. These are just a few of the ways that parents describe Music Together®. Want to join their amazing community of Music Together families?
For the last 20 years, West Side Music Together has been providing meaningful music experiences for thousands of families in Vancouver. Families can enter our program curriculum at any age from newborn through age 8 in their Babies Only (0-8mos), Mixed Age (0-4yrs), or Rhythm Kids (5-8yrs) programs. Each week babies, toddlers, preschoolers, big kids—and the grownups who love them!—gather together in classes to sing, wiggle, dance, and jam with the instruments.
Children can learn to speak music in the same way they learn to speak English – by being with grown-ups who speak the language of music to each other, the children, and even to the infants. And parents love their award-winning music with its rich variety of styles, metres, tonalities, and languages! The illustrated songbook, and other print and online resources will help you continue the music-making fun at home and nurture your child’s musical growth—even if you don’t think of yourself as a great singer or dancer. Like parenting, making music requires no previous experience or expertise, just a willingness to get down on the floor and get silly with your child!

A great family outdoor activity is helping kids make a connection, through hands-on activities and simple awareness, not only teaching them about nature’s cycles but also planting the seeds of respect for our environment. Together, we can nurture that understanding—one wildflower, one pollinator hunt, and one tiny bee at a time.
The beginning of summer is a great time to start creating boundaries and managing screen time. Instead of banning screens altogether, which is often unrealistic for most families, the focus can shift to creating intentional limits and routines that support both connection and independence.
You’ve probably heard of yoga—it’s an ancient practice with a 5,000-year history! Many people think of it as just stretching or an activity for adults, but yoga is a powerful, often-overlooked tool that can increase overall well-being in kids. True well-being isn’t one-dimensional—it’s a blend of physical, mental, emotional, cognitive, and even spiritual health.
