Admiring twinkling lights, decorations and ambient music in themed parks, botanical gardens, and suspension bridges on walks and adventures is a wonderful way to enjoy the holidays with the entire family. Here are three picks for those who are hoping to experience a few last family fun-filled adventures this holiday season.
This botanical garden certainly outdid itself this year offering 15 acres of glowing and twinkling magic including over 1 million lights to be awe inspired by. Be sure to start off with your gourmet hot chocolates – they taste as good as they look! The hardest choice will be what pathway to go down first, but they all interconnect and are equally as inviting. Each enchanting and vibrant choice is inspired by unique plants and animals from BC’s endangered Garry Oak Meadows. In the centre of all of this was the beautiful dancing lights show that started every 20 minutes. This is a great place to visit with the entire family and the pathways leave a lot of space for passerby’s and places to sit and marvel at all the festive charm. Most paved garden paths are fully accessible to wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers. Another special moment to be shared on this visit is to stop by the Scottish Shelter to light a candle and make a donation to Make-A-Wish. This event runs until January 7th – order tickets here!
Heritage Christmas at Burnaby Village Museum offers a special nostalgic atmosphere with festive lights and traditional decorations. This is the perfect Wandering around the museum’s 10 acre venue and take in all the seasonal entertainment, demonstrations and activities. Open daily from 1-9pm until January 5th. This is the perfect place to take the family for some nostalgic holiday fun!
Cross the world-famous bridge, lit end-to-end with a changing multi-colour display, and sway high above the illuminated Capilano River. Journey into a glittering rainforest and walk high above the forest floor on a transformed Treetops Adventure. Finally, walk along the twinkling cliffside pathway of Cliffwalk.
Capture an Instagram-worthy photo, sip a decadent hot chocolate to the sound of live festive tunes or get in on all the festive fun of the many kids activities around the Park.
Canyon Lights is included in the price of admission. Order tickets here! Canyon Lights on until January 21st, 2024.
