Holly Jolly Fun at Metropolis Metrotown

The holiday season returns to Metropolis at Metrotown with an array of classic experiences in support of local charities, along with exciting new adventures including a new Holiday Lounge and Date Night with Santa – making the Met the perfect place to celebrate the holiday season.

Join in the festivities at BC’s largest shopping centre from now through December 30th, and get into the holiday spirit!

Meet an array of diverse Santas. The season isn’t complete without a classic Santa meet-and greet and a photo souvenir. Available now, Metropolis at Metrotown will host three different Santas (Father Christmas, Global Santa and Tropical Santa) for a global experience. Each photo will give back, with partial proceeds being donated to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.

Rock around the Holiday Lounge. Starting November 25 until December 23, shoppers can take a break and unwind at the Met’s new Holiday Lounge, located near the Grand Court. Relax in a beautifully decorated space, away from the bustle. With multiple kids’ lounge areas, a snow globe photo opportunity, classic movies playing throughout the day, live music on select days, the lounge also offers arts and crafts in the kids’ area. Access to the VIP Lounge is granted to guests who spend $300 or more on the same day, by showing their receipts. The exclusive VIP Lounge features free wine, a hot chocolate bar, sweet treats and light snacks, along with a private kids lounge area and holiday film screening section, and parcel and coat check-in so shoppers can relax, unencumbered. The first 500 shoppers to enter the VIP Lounge will be gifted with the Met’s red Holiday tote, which allows unlimited in-and-out access throughout the holidays. A guest along with children ages 15 and younger, may also join at no cost.

Enjoy a Date Night with Santa. For the first time ever, the Met welcomes friends and lovers aged 19 years and older into the sultry Date Night Lounge. Taking over the Holiday lounge for two nights only on December 6 and 13, the spicy space offers live music, a complimentary drink (wine, bubbles or Kir Royale), light holiday-style canapés and sweets. Each couple or friend will also be offered a photo souvenir opportunity with Santa. Equally suited to a romantic outing or girls’ night out, the ticketed experience costs $50 (for two guests, plus tax).

Jingle Bell Rock around the Met. Also new this season is Holiday Music at the Met, where artists will roam the centre treating shoppers to musical performances on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from December 3 – 19. Featured artists include John Gilliat, a Latin guitarist; Bonnie Northgraves, a jazz trumpeter; and Taras Luka, an accordionist, among others.

Give back with the Met’s charitable initiatives. From December 2 – 24, at the charity gift wrap station, sponsored by Coast Capital Savings, shoppers can donate to Burnaby Neighbourhood House in exchange for a beautifully wrapped parcel. The Met will also run a toy drive benefiting the Burnaby Christmas Bureau on December 7, with the first 100 donors earning a $10 gift card, and every donor entered to win a $100 gift card.

Seasonal offerings at Metropolis at Metrotown runs from November 12 through December 30, 2024. The shopping centre is open Monday to Saturday, 10am-9pm; and Sundays, 11am-7pm. Special holiday hours apply November 29, 8am-10pm; December 22, 10am-9pm; December 24, 10am-6pm; December 26, 8am-10pm; December 31, 11am-7pm; and January 1, 11am-7pm.
