1. Roller Coasters and Thrill Rides
Playland boasts over 30 rides and attractions, including three heart-pounding roller coasters. Here are the highlights:
a. ThunderVolt: The New Launch Coaster
Stay tuned for the electrifying ThunderVolt, set to open this summer. It promises an experience like no other! The exact date of launch will be announced soon.
b. The Historic Wooden Roller Coaster
The Wooden Roller Coaster, a true classic, has been operating since 1958. It’s a coaster enthusiast’s dream, earning the prestigious title of “Coaster Classic” from the American Coaster Enthusiasts. The wooden structure provides an authentic and thrilling ride experience.
c. Corkscrew Roller Coaster
For the adventurous souls, the Corkscrew takes riders upside down with a double helix inversion. Brace yourself for twists, turns, and adrenaline rushes!
d. Atmosfear Swing Ride
Atmosfear elevates you 218 feet into the air while spinning at a heart-pounding 70 km/h. The panoramic views of Vancouver are breathtaking.

3. Special Events
This year, Playland announced that they’ll be hosting several special events, both kid-friendly and kid-at-heart-friendly. Families will want to check out the following:
KC Bear’s Birthday Bash: On June 8 and 9, KC Bear is turning this many! The timeless mascot over in Playland wants you to come out and celebrate their birthday with them and all their mascot friends. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their birthday best (wear your party hats) can snap a photo with the iconic bear. First 500 guests (per day) will receive a complimentary popcorn.
Playland Eras Night: On June 15, your Swifties can come out to celebrate their Playland Era! Guests are encouraged to dress up (glitter, sequins, you name it!) and can enjoy the park to the tunes of one of the many great musicians of our time. As a special bonus, there will be a limited time offer glitter-themed treat!
Solstice Night: On June 22, guests can celebrate the longest day of the year. Wear your florals and come out to celebrate summer. Older kids (or anyone wanting to stay up late) can enjoy the park for an extra hour that day, as Playland will be open until midnight, making one of the longest days of the year even longer.
Halloween in July: Celebrate Halloween a little early this year! On July 26 and 27, one of Playland’s most popular events is back. Enjoy a casual break from summer to get in the spirit (pun intended) of the upcoming season.
Fun-Price Thursdays: In July and August, you can save on Thrill passes! Buy online to save on Thrill passes, where they will be the price of a Fun pass. That’s right – you can get access to all the thrills at Playland, for less!
Dates and Hours
In May and June, Playland opens on select days from 11 am to 5 pm.
July and August, Play is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 am to 5 pm, with select Fridays and Saturdays extending until 10 pm.
