Science World is thrilled to host the Tech-Up Showcase presented by Amazon Future Engineer on Friday, September 20. The FREE event will feature special activities that will introduce visitors of all ages to disciplines including robotics, computer science and engineering.

Event Highlights:

• FREE Admission: Enjoy free admission to Science World throughout the day, with access to permanent exhibits and special day-of programming.
• Hands-On Learning: Visitors of all ages will have the chance to explore robotics, computer science, and engineering through interactive exhibits and workshops.
• Special Programming:
o Get hands-on with coding and robotics! Visitors can stretch their coding skills by programming a Robot Mouse to spell their name or use Python to guide Finch Robots through a maze. Plus, they’ll learn about the practical applications of robotics by interacting with an Amazon Hercules Robot, a powerful machine capable of handling heavy loads up to 1,000 pounds in Amazon fulfillment centers.
o “Your Voice is Power” Workshop: Learn the fundamentals of computer science by remixing music from Indigenous artists. Your Voice is Power combines hands-on STEM education with the opportunity to reflect on themes related to social justice.
o Live Performance by Dakota Bear: The event will feature a noon performance and meet-and-greet with Dakota Bear, a Vancouver-based Indigenous Hip-Hop artist and activist.
