Yay, it’s Family Day weekend. This annual holiday, established in 2013, is a great day to have some much-needed fun in February. Are you thinking about fun things to do and wondering what’s open?

What’s happening this Family Day?
Vancouver Aquarium
Over 65,000 animals, 30 world-class exhibits, and 1 unforgettable experience await families at the Vancouver Aquarium during Family Day weekend. From February 11 to 21, explore Canada’s largest Aquarium together with one child entrance for FREE with a regular ticket purchase. Vancouver Aquarium members can bring a friend for free during this period also.
VanDusen Botanical Garden
Explore the Garden and be immersed in the beautiful plants, admire the artistic sculptures, and get lost in the maze. Visit the Garden during Family Day long weekend and receive a FREE child ticket with the purchase of any adult, senior, or youth admission ticket.
Richmond Children’s Arts Festival
The Richmond Children’s Arts Festival will spark creativity with FREE kid-friendly events & programs at the Richmond Cultural Centre including an interactive performance from Peter G-G, drawing and painting activities, scavenger hunts, and more. Check out what they planned here.
Grouse Mountain
Get up the mountain and go for a sled or skate. A Mountain Admission Ticket includes round-trip travel via the Skyride and access to open mountaintop attractions. Grouse Mountain is offering half-price skate and sled rentals on Family day. Be sure to book your spot in advance before heading to the mountain.
Historic Stewart Farm
Spend Family Day with your clan by going back in time for a unique family experience at the Historic Stewart Farm in South Surrey. The popular historic landmark will host a free, fun-filled drop-in event for all ages. Visitors are encouraged to explore the picturesque grounds and charming farmhouse, which tells the story of an early Surrey pioneer family (the Stewarts) that lived on the site from 1889 to 1994. Burnaby Village Museum
Take a ride on the Carousel and have a lovely stroll through Burnaby Village Museum! Enjoy live entertainment from The Boytles – four talented youth performing a tribute to the Beatles. Go back in time to remember your favourite hits, and dance along with this new version of the Fab Four. Showtimes at 12:30-1 pm, 1:45-2:15 pm and 2:45-3:15 pm. Admission is FREE
